Are You Dyslexic? A Home Dyslexia Test Would Tell You for Sure…

Tag: Generaladmin @ 7:04 am

Dyslexia is known to be a neurological condition that affects the brain’s ability to interpret signals received from the eyes. A primary dyslexia symptom is the problems in reading that it causes.

Approximately Some 10% of the entire population has some form and degree of dyslexia.

Elementary School students are now routinely screened for dyslexia symptoms. However, most of what we have learned about dyslexia has come in the last 15-25 years. That means that almost all who graduated from elementary school more than about 15 years ago have never been screened or tested.

As a result, there are millions of adult dyslexics out there. 95% of these do not know that dyslexia is the root cause of their problems with reading and manipulating the symbols used for words and numbers. They all desperately need dyslexia testing, but they don’t know it, and without testing, we don’t know who they are…

Before we began to understand dyslexia, our educational systems made life very difficult for dyslexic students. They were unjustly stigmatized as being “slow learners” or “underachievers”. Dyslexics are not stupid, nor are they mentally deficient. They just see things differently and learn things differently from non-dyslexics.

Most were embarrassed their problems and tried to hide them. Most developed effective defense mechanisms, like avoiding any situation or job or activity that might require them to read something or be required to read aloud. These defense mechanisms are still mostly in place. That works to make adult dyslexics hard to find.

If these people could be found now and encouraged to take a free dyslexia test for screening, their dyslexia symptoms could be found. If sufficient dyslexia symptoms were present, they could be encouraged to go for a full scale, professional testing.

Today such testing is relatively cheap and fast. Any adult can take a home dyslexia test, online, at home or from wherever they could connect to the Internet.

Once diagnosed they could be helped to overcome their dyslexic problems and lead normal, more fulfilling lives.

Adults with dyslexia just need a bit of special training to learn how to deal with and overcome any problems associated with dyslexia. Once tested and diagnosed, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities to them, including how to use the gifts of dyslexia. Yes, the “gift of dyslexia” is shared by many famous dyslexics like actor Tom Cruise, Singer-actress Cher, entrepreneur-businessman Sir Richard Branson and thousands of others.

    “Dyslexia is known to be a neurological condition that affects the brain’s ability to interpret signals received from the eyes.”

    That description is as valid as my definition of an elephant. An elephant is an animal in the circus.

    My niche is visual dyslexia and how to remove the visual problems that make reading difficult. That’s about 10% of the dyslexic population. 90% of dyslexics have no eye related problems.

    Most dyslexics have language and/or auditory processing problems that are reflected as reading difficulties.

    Tom Cruise have dyslexia and yet he is still a very successful actor.-`;
